Wow, this summer has flown by. It’s not over yet, but there is a coolness in the air. This summer we got to celebrate our nephew’s first birthday. We also had a few other birthdays between family and friends. We went to our church carnival with a few friends and their children. Bill and I vied to each win them something- which we did. We also went to the beach a lot. Next week is Labor Day and we get to celebrate our niece’s 7th birthday. Tonight we are going to see a concert in the park. Keep on checking us out for the latest.
Summer brings us so many things. Flowers blooming, BBQs, with friends and family, birthday and other celebrations. Somehow it goes by all to quickly. Bill and I are looking forward to seeing many of our families over the impending July 4th weekend. We look forward to hosting a small BBQ for our close friends. The best part is watching all of the children play. It is the small things like this we look forward to when we are blessed with a child. Warm summer nights, catching fireflies, toasting marshmallows- all the things we did as kids. So as we gear up for many summer celebrations, we will hope, pray, and hold onto our childhood memories- knowing that we too will be able to experience it all over again through the eyes of the child we are meant to adopt.
Great dinner and dessert with good friends last night. Yummy chocolate peanut butter fondue too! Today there was some much spent fun time with my mom’s dog, Sugar. I don’t know any dog that does not like a good belly rub. Sugar was a rescue who was left at the side of the road in Georgia. After being scooped up, I saw her online and it was love at first sight for my mom. She could not have a better home.
Spring is teasing us. We had some warmth and then a blast of cold, but it seems like that spring is actually going to make an arrival. Sure the trees are budding and even the magnolias have started blooming, but a chill in the air lingered. Now, with temps on the rise and some beautiful sun shining, Bill and I can finally plan to do so some work on the outside to get it into shape for the impending arrival of summer. I look forward to planting flowers throughout our front yard, and my small flower garden in the back yard. We intend to plant a new rose bush and Bill is looking forward to growing tomatoes. We look forward to sharing these joys with a family.
